Types of activities: Mostly comprehension based using Socrative, Kahoot, and scene summaries. Students also caption scenes, identify vocabulary they understood, and respond to basic questions about movie.
Overview: These activities were designed for use with level 1 or 2 students in mind. The movie should also be viewed in Spanish with Spanish subtitles. Class discussions were held in both English and the target language to demonstrate comprehension. Spanish 2 in my district has a unit focusing on entertainment. The students learn about music, movies, and art. This movie touched on all of these themes and involved an assessment where they write about going to the movies, what they saw, the characters, the plot of the movie, genre, etc. They also were asked to express opinions on the movie and how it made them feel. These were objectives of this unit and are therefore intertwined in some of these activities to get them to where they needed to be for my specific curriculum, vocabulary, structures I am trying to reinforce, etc.
Time: The activities are structured to show over a period of five days in increments of about 15-25 minutes. I showed the movie once a week over five weeks throughout our unit on entertainment.
