Description

Have your students learn about decimals on the number line as they code a scene in Scratch. Check out THIS blog post for more specifics on how to use these directions with your students.

**UPDATED for Scratch 3.0**

This activity is to be completed using the free web tool, Scratch.

This product contains step by step directions and screenshots for coding a sprite/character to move along a student designed number line that is divided into decimals.

First, assign each student a decimal. Then, students will:

★Create their own number line representing decimals between 0 and 1

★Record themselves saying the decimal they were assigned aloud

★Type the word form of the decimal

★Use coding blocks to problem solve and think critically about how to animate their sprite/character

★Program a new decimal of their choice by repeating the steps
