Looking for an easy way to integrate ‘Coding INTO the Curriculum’?

This lesson plan covers Math CCSS 4.OA.3.

It includes an easy to follow teacher guide, as well as student worksheets that explore the concepts of how the variables (# of items, amount of time, and range of acceptable answers) affect one’s ability to successfully estimate the correct number of ‘bunches’ of bananas.

Students use Scratch (www.scratch.mit.edu), a block-based programming language to engage students and have them apply estimation skills to a computer game that they play...and then customize to make their own!
This lesson plan can be completed without prior computer programming lessons, as students are ‘remixing’ a game that has already been created.
