Each student will have their name written on a sticky note in a code. Working together the students must decipher whose name is whose. When students have figured out their name, they sit in the desk that the sticky is on. At the end, not only do you have your students in your preferred seating plan, but it allows them to get to know each other a little bit and communicate as a group. I have always had great success with this activity and it is always fun to watch them talk strategy.
