About the Resource:
This is made from an article online from Universal Music France-it is a biography of Québécoise musician Cœur de Pirate. All material is copyright of Universal Music, and is intended as a teaching tool to show students authentic French.
The article’s contents are unabridged and unedited, making it a perfect authentic resource for any French level. I have taken the text and designed it with graphics relevant to the contents to make the reading more engaging and teacher-friendly.
It is a ready-to-use beautiful printout in full color designed to look like a magazine article. Laminate and keep from year to year!
I have deliberately kept the article and activities separate so that it can be used with multiple levels of French, from beginners to advanced.
How I use it :
I print out a class set for students to work in pairs (15) and give them comprehension questions to go with the reading that match up activity and aimer vocabulary, as well as descriptions, age, and basic information for French beginners.
I teach and reinforce grammar with songs, and I use profiles of the artist for exposure to authentic texts and to teach reading skills in the TL.
I then show the music video for « Comme des Enfants » and have them translate a few select lines appropriate for French 1 that are relevant to likes/dislikes vocabulary.
