This fun resource is an exciting intro to Spanish-English cognates! You can use the flashcards in Spanish and practice saying the Spanish cognates for familiar English nouns. Students will love learning Spanish as they become familiar with 36 common Cognates!
36 colored Cognate flashcards
1 page of Vocabulario
2 pages of “Write the Room"
3 pages of Cognate Fill-in-the-Blanks
3 pages of Answer keys
(the last Fill-in-the-Blank page is an intro to Adjective Cognates for advanced learners)
For “Write the Room," cut & post the 36 Cognates around the class and have students find them and fill in their sheets according to alphabetical order. I have posted the first letter of each Cognate for students to fill in the rest when they find the corresponding card. Students love this activity and, if you want to up the ante, you can time them and make it a little more challenging!
