This worksheet is based off of the cognitive triangle which teaches students that our thoughts control our feelings and our feelings control our behaviors. In other words, what we think changes how we feel and how we feel changes what we do.
It is the perfect thing to use in individual counseling or as a small group counseling activity. It is a very helpful tool for a counselor to use when helping a student learn to re-frame negative, unhelpful thoughts. It can be used following an event that led to unwanted behaviors for a student to analyze what happened and come up with a better way to handle things next time. It could also be used as a tool to teach students this process just with their imagination instead of based on a real-life event.
Step by step directions along with an example are included. I hope that you find this helpful to use with your students!
