This set of SIXTY-FOUR coin task cards cover 4 different coin counting & recognition skills! There are 4 different sets of questions and each set has 16 cards. An answer key and game board are included! This set practices with pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. All coin images are realistic and include heads and tails.
***Set 1: 16 cards having students use coins to build the amount shown on the card. 8 cards use the $ sign and 8 cards use the ¢ sign. (Example: Using the fewest amount of coins, build $0.37. Answer: 1 quarter, 1 dime, and 2 pennies)
***Set 2: 16 cards having students determine how much money is shown by the coin images. (Example: Realistic images of 2 quarters and 3 dimes are shown. Answer: $0.80). 4 cards have answers greater than one dollar.
***Set 3: 16 cards having students determine how much money is shown using words. (Example: 3 quarters, 3 nickels, 2 pennies. Answer: $0.92). 4 cards have answers greater than one dollar.
***Set 4: 16 cards having students give equivalent coin amounts. (Example: 3 dimes = ? nickels. Answer: 6 nickels)
The games are easy to set up and play! Easy directions, recording sheets, and answer keys are included. There is a complete color set, and black/white as well.
***Race to the Piggy Bank: In this game, students move around a game board and use the fewest coins possible to build the amount shown on the square they land on. Answer key included & recording sheets included.
***What’s Your Word Worth: In this game, students add coins to find the total value of their word. 20 words are 3-4 letters, 20 words are 5-6 letters, and 20 words are 7+ letters. There are also blanks so you can write your own words! Words are color coded to help with organization. An answer key is provided for each set of words, recording sheets are included, and coin images are realistic with front and back of coin shown.
***Race to a Quarter/Dollar: This game focuses on students understanding equivalents (how many pennies in a nickel). There are directions for the Quarter version as well as the Dollar version. Student sorting maps for their coins are included for both version too.
***Grab the Bag: Students work on coin recognition/value and adding coins in this game. Set up like WAR, students go head to head. If they add correctly and have the highest amount, they collect a money bag. 16 cards show coin images and 16 cards have coin amount written out (2 quarters, 3 dimes, and 7 pennies). An answer key for each card is included. Variations for this include having students draw 2 cards each or using the cards to practice ordering money amounts.
