The book also includes detailed information on the history and design of the common coins in use today, as well as several older coins dating back to the early 1900's, with photos of these coins.

In order to get the most out of this unit study, you will need to have a small basic magnifying glass and some coins. Most of the coins you will need are in circulation today and will be found in your pocket change. The exceptions are the half-dollar, which can usually be found at a bank if you ask, and the wheat-back cent. These are both currently circulating coins but are not often seen.
The book contains 21 numbered pages in color, with many photos.
