Product Description
This resource is particularly helpful for teaching little ones to identify coins and their values. These "wallets" can be used as a mat to sort coin manipulatives with, or as a great scaffolding resource for struggling students to refer to. My first graders LOVE their "wallets" and use them as a reference tool when sorting new coins.

To use this product, cut standard pieces of construction paper into halves lengthwise. Next, fold these strips up into thirds to make perfect, foldable "wallets." Students will then glue the boxes with coin names onto each fold of the wallet. When they're done, they can cut and glue either each coin representation from the boxes or sort and glue the scrambled coin representations from the file. I like to put their names on the front, open it up and do penny, nickel, and dime, then fold up the bottom and put quarters there. There is even a space on the back if you'd like to add half dollar. (Although my students much prefer to decorate that space).
