Pennies, Nickels, Dimes, and Quarters—help your students master coins with two easy games and display posters.
These games and activities have been classroom tested in our 1st-3rd grades. The resources are simple and easy to print and use because I have found that simple impacts student learning just as much as complicated. Plus, I also know that teacher time and resources are at a premium.
The file incudes a money match card game in four color-coded levels. The cards can be used for concentration-type practice as well as for a “Go Fish” type card game for two players.
-Level 1 contains 16 cards with a coin picture (heads only), name, value in cents, and value words for penny, nickel, dime, and quarter.
-Level 2, adds decimal notation.
-Level 3, adds basic coin groupings.
-Level 4, adds coin groupings using both heads and tails.
Also included is a BUMP! game, one of our classroom favorites, whch allows students to repeatedly practice math skills in a fun way.
There are also student reference cards, which can be used while playing the coin games or during math lessons, four coin posters in two sizes, and counting mats.
