Students can practice their coin counting and number identification skills while learning about and celebrating Presidents' Day and/or George Washington's Birthday!
The hundred chart mystery picture reveals a picture of the first American president George Washington, who is also on the one dollar bill which is 100 cents (like the 100 numbers on a hundred chart). Students will count sets of coins for each color in order to find which numbers need to be colored on the chart. You can print and staple these as worksheets for each student to complete with pencil, or print and laminate to put in a math center and have students use dry erase markers. There are two activity options for differentiation: a completed number chart for coloring only and a blank chart for students to write in the numbers themselves before coloring. A chart of the coin pictures, names, and number values is also included to support students as they count the coins. An answer key page reveals the colored picture.
