Coins in the Couch is a game where players retrieve coins from pockets in a couch, count the value, record it on a checkbook score sheet, and add the final column of numbers. It works best to copy the game pieces on cardstock and laminate them. The game pieces include 3 pocket covers for the couch, 4 wallets for players to keep their coins, checkbook score sheets to copy or laminate, paper coins. Some students with special needs learn to count coins best with real coins. You may want to use plastic classroom coins or the paper coins provided. The checkbook score sheets may be re-used if laminated and players use dry erase markers. Kids enjoy the trendy looking room and placing coins in their wallets!
