Cold War. Cold War Game. Cold War Activities Role Play. Role-Play. Skit. FBI. CIA. KGB. Spy. Active Learning.
My 8th Grade students absolutely love this game! This is an activity bundle investigating the secret operations organizations of the Cold War. The organizations that are investigated are the FBI, CIA, and KGB. First, students read about the FBI, CIA, and KGB and fill out a graphic organizer. Next, there is a game that the teacher facilitates about keeping information out of the hands of the KGB in the FBI and CIA offices. Joseph McCarthy investigates people who the group's think are in the KGB. Overall the game lasts about 25-30 minutes. There is an opportunity to write more prompts if you would like to run the game again. Third, students do a short reading on Robert Hanssen and answer questions about him. Lastly, the students design skits that show the relationship between all of the people/groups in these activities.
