Cold War Policies Complete Lesson Plan

This is a fantastic , full or 2 day day lesson plan on all of America's Cold War policies.

It begins with a simple PowerPoint presentation overview of each era of the Cold War (containment, brinksmanship, Detente, glasnost, and revolution). Students then read through 12 important events (SALT Treaties, Berlin Wall constructed, 1st Soviet atomic test, Cuban Missile Crisis, etc) and must place them into the correct era. Each event is described simply and can be cut up and analyzed in groups or individually.

Finally, a worksheet is included for students to complete based on the policies and events they have analyzed. This is a great way to go through a lot of history in a brief amount of time and give students a good understanding of how the Cold War heated up and cooled off over time.

An answer key for each assignment is included for your convenience. Thank you for looking!
