Students will explore the Presidential responses to the Cold War. Students will share the research that they do in a speed-dating style.
Students must be in tables of ODD numbers for this assignment to work.
Students should sit in pods of odd numbers. Assign each student at the table a different Cold War President.
Allow students 45 minutes to research the President and to complete the script.
Below are the four parts of the assignment:
Part 1: After being assigned President, research his presidency. and complete the graphic organizer below. Be sure to make the information easy to understand so they you can share it with your peers.
Part 2: Complete the script that you will use during your speed dating activity. You will read the script aloud to your partner.
Part 3: Speed Date! You will have four minutes to “date” the person sitting across from you. When you “date” each classmate, write down the information on their President in your graphic organizer. When the buzzer sounds, stand up and move to the seat to your right to start your next “date”
Step 4: Written Response: Write a one paragraph essay in which you argue which Cold War President was most effective/successful and why you believe that.
