Objective: Students Will Be Able To identify key terms related to the Cold War era.

Directions: Students will work to unscramble the terms that correspond with the definition that is provided.

*This could be a 10 minute activity or an entire 90 minute class period if the extension activities are used.

Extension Activities: 1. Students will underline or highlight 1-2 key words from each definition. 2. Students will add a small picture next to each term that represents the term. 3. Students will use the words in an essay that answers the question: What were some key foreign and domestic events or concerns that America experienced during the Cold War? How did the people and the government respond to each?

Terms: Manhattan Project, baby boom, communist, Warsaw Pact, desegregate, Sputnik I, containment, freedom rides, Korea, Vietnam
