Description
This resource is a PowerPoint that can be used to print customizable student handouts that can be applied to any video. There are two student video handout types, and both allow the students to watch the video in collaborative groups and require the students to fill out the sheet together. Group Video Sheet #1 has four students each select a different color to write their names in the four corners, and then to write down important words and phrases from the video in the center of the paper. The paper should be completed by everyone in the group, and the teacher can tell the level of participation by looking to see that every students' color is represented. Group Video Sheet #2 has four students each select a different color to write their names in the four corners, and then to write down important words and phrases from the video in the center of the paper. This video sheet also has space for the teacher to write four content questions about the video in spaces on the group video sheet. The student names in each corner that border the thinking question will be responsible for answering that thinking question together on their paper. For example: if a question is written between the corners for Student #1 and Student #2, then both of those students are responsible for answering that question. If a question is written between the corners for Student #2 and Student #3, then both of those students are responsible for answering that question.
The Power Point is 8 Slides:
- Slide #1: Group Video Sheet #1, Slide #2: Example of Group Video Sheet #1, Slide #3: Group Video Sheet #2, Slide #4: Example of Group Video Sheet #2, Slides #5 and #6: Teacher Directions for Group Video Sheet #1- Teacher Directions/Student Directions/Printing Directions, and Slides #7 and #8: Teacher Directions for Group Video Sheet #2- Teacher Directions/Student Directions/Printing Directions.
This lesson will allow your students to work in collaborative groups to fill out the video sheet, and you will save on paper if you only have to make one copy of the handout for each group in your class!
