Collaborative teaching is really tough. You may have to work with someone who has a completely different teaching style. Or, you have the same style and end up stepping on one another's toes. It's best to avoid those problems before they become problems. Ideally, the special education and general education teacher work together to build a classroom where all students are learning and thriving.
