This rigorous vocabulary program teaches students Greek and Latin roots, along with some of the words formed from these roots, and follows with additional words from classical mythology and history, French words in English, and Italian words in English.
Learning essential roots enables students to figure out the meanings of unfamiliar words, improving their reading comprehension, writing ability, and success on standardized tests.
The zip file includes the following materials:
-A 22-page list of Greek and Latin roots, along with some of the words formed from these roots, and additional words from classical mythology and history, French words in English, and Italian words in English.
-16 pages of tests that assess students’ knowledge of segments of the vocabulary
-22 pages of make-up tests, so you will have a different version of a test to give to students who were absent. There is no make-up test for #15 (some of the French words in English), and there are multiple versions of some of the make-up tests.
-No answer keys are included, but all answers are on the original list of roots and words.
-9 pages of crosswords and word searches for some of the word lists.
Log in to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
