This guidance lesson teaches students about college and career readiness (CCR) by exploring the meanings behind being college ready and life ready. The lesson focuses on key CCR vocabulary, the financial rewards of post-secondary education, and prioritizing tasks as a stress reduction strategy This lesson is the seventh in a series designed to decrease problem behaviors (especially crisis incidents) and increase academic success. In using a form of this guidance lesson at my own school, my co-counselors and I noticed positive gains in both crisis prevention and academic achievement! This resource can be taught over 2-3 guidance periods or streamlined down to one short lesson.
