This map is meant to be an aid in career exploration discussions between teachers and students. It is appropriate for both middle school and high school students.
This map is designed to explain the different college options beyond high school. At the top, it has a timeline of "years after high school," which shows how long it takes (on average) to receive each degree. The degrees are then listed below according to how logn it takes to receive each degree. It has the basic degrees such as Associate, Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate, and it also includes medical school and law school.
It also has a section for CLEP tests, AP classes, and dual-enrollment classes, showing that preparing for college even in high school can really pay off.
The arrow at the bottom represents work, which fades from white to blue to demonstrate the shift from light part-time work into more full-time options that are related to your major.
These can be used for discussions about career exploration, college preparation, SAT preparation, career interests, scholarships, financial aid, internships, etc. This can be used on it's own or in conjunction with other career activites.
This is my first listing ever, so please send me any feedback, positive or constructive!
Thanks for looking! :)
