This is a mapping activity for the Southern Colonies that students can:
Glue into their interactive notebooks (the map itself is a 1/2 page--printed two to a page to conserve paper), use as an independent activity, or as homework.
It contains a separate page that has map instructions that asks students to:
Label the colonies of Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.
Use the map legend to draw the economic specializations (tobacco, rice, cotton, indigo, forest products) for each of the Southern colonies as previously mentioned.
Color each of the Southern colonies.
This is one of three products (the Mid-Atlantic, New England, and the Southern colonies) that I have chunked up by itself. It has been successful helping my students to become familiar with the colonies and examples of their economic specializations.
It covers VA SOL USI.5b focusing on the mapping and examples of economic specialization component. It also contains an answer key for teacher reference.
**Although this product is VA specific, please read the product description carefully to see if it would also align with your state's standards of learning**
