Product Description
Introduce your students to Jandamarra and help them to develop an understanding of the Aboriginal peoples’ experiences of European settlement and the establishment of colonies.

Jandamarra is a legend of Australian History. While considered an outlaw by the European settlers he was seen as a hero with magical powers to the Bunuba people of the Kimberley. Growing up Jandamarra learned the ways of the white pastoralists and even helped the police to capture and imprison many of his own people so the pastoralists could claim more land for farming. In a dramatic turn of events, Jandamarra defected and returned to his people to lead them in guerilla-style warfare against the white settlers. Jandamarra was a master at causing havoc and then disappearing, evading police for years before they eventually caught up with him.

Your students will be truly engaged in Jandamarra's story with the help of these five interactive notebook activities:

→ Mini-unit title page
→ Comprehension text and question flipbook
→ Jandamarra foldable biography activity
→ Jandamarra's life timeline maze activity
→ Persuasive writing assessment task
