Description

Are you looking for a way to help students understand daily life in Plymouth Colony and for the Wampanoag tribe during Colonial Times? This resource gives students information about chores, games, food and other aspects of both cultures with a fun, decision-based adventure! Students will practice comprehension of non-fiction text and learn essential Social Studies content at the same time! Perfect for Thanksgiving or a study on the American Colonies!

Students will love this adventure through time! Each adventure is unique based on the decisions of the students! They will travel back to Plymouth Colony and learn about life as a Pilgrim and as a Wampanoag. Two embedded videos and two non-fiction texts are woven into an interesting story that forces students to make lots of decisions. Sometimes their decisions lead to feasts and happiness, and sometimes, they don't survive!

The purpose of this activity is to immerse students in the culture of the time period including food, chores and homes of the Pilgrims and the Wampanoags. The videos and text bring the cultures to life, making this a lot of fun as part of a unit on Colonial America or before Thanksgiving!

There are comprehension questions to focus students on important information, including multiple choice, short answer, and one paragraph. However, each adventure is unique, which means students will not answer every question. For that reason, you also get the articles as printables AND Google Slides. I use the articles as the assessment after students complete the adventure.

You get:

1. Google Form Adventure - 15 sections

2. "Squanto, Man of Many Cultures" article - printable AND Google Slide

3. "What's for Dinner?" article - printable AND Google Slide

4. Comprehension activities and questions - printable AND Google Slide

6. Answer keys for everything!
