To become familiar with colonial trade patterns and the influence of England's mercantilist policies.

In this lesson, students compete against each other in a contest about trade and commerce during the Colonial Period.
Class members are given time to identify as many products as they can that are traded between the New England Colonies, Middle Colonies, and Southern Colonies. The competition is fierce! The winners will be announced.
Afterwards, the kids enjoy working on three map exercises showing triangular trade routes.
Easy-to-follow Teacher Instructions and answer key included, along with a 20-question follow up quiz to measure student progress. The quiz can also be given as a homework assignment.
