A "Go-Fish" style card game that teaches students about regional specialization and interdependence in the American 13 Colonies. This game helps students memorize common resources from the New England, Mid-Atlantic, and Southern colonies (as specified in the Virginia SOL USI.5b).
Each student receives a set of cards with items specific to their region (New England, Mid-Atlantic, or Southern) and a game sheet. In groups of 3, students take turns reading a statement from their game sheet. Each statement is made by a fictitious colonial person, and identifies a resource they need to obtain from another colonial region. The student will then make a prediction and ask another player if they have that resource. If the student guesses correctly, they get to keep the card, and they record where they obtained the resource.
