This workbook contains specific activities for students to learn about all of the North American colonies. The introduction previews vocabulary and then has students discuss reasons why countries would create colonies. Following that are pages on the Spanish, French, and Dutch colonies, as well as all of the British colonies (Roanoke, Jamestown, Plymoth, and the 13 colonies, segmented by region). There are also several pages focusing on the economics of the colonies. Students study triangular trade, the effects of colonization, and industries of the 13 colonies.
The workbook is meant to be used along with your Social Studies textbook. If the text is missing something from the workbook, use any other supplemental materials you have. You can progress through the workbook as a class, or make it self-paced for your fast learners.
