Use this project to have your students demonstrate their understanding of a U.S. colony by creating their own brochure and persuade people to move to the colony.
In the brochure, students will include a description of the colony, tell what jobs were available, describe what resources are available and what people need to bring, tell what the weather and land is like, describe any other interesting facts that make the colony unique, and create their own slogan to encourage people to move to their colony.
Another option for this project is a creative writing project. Students can create their own colony based on what they learned and create a brochure to persuade people to move to their "made up" colony.
Included are the brochure template, student directions, and teacher directions. Just print and go- NO PREP WORK!
