This is a guided inquiry lab which allows students to be scientists by design. Students will be able to take an active role in a scientific investigation. The teacher will specify the lab materials and safety guidelines. The investigation is defined for the students yet students are expected to develop a procedure for the lab.
Students will collaborate with others, make observations, record data, analyze data, make conclusions and share results.
Students will be testing the amount of fat in milk using food coloring and dish soap based on the reaction of the food coloring. Students will use the Data Sheet to organize their data and conclude if their hypothesis was correct.
The pages included in this science lab include information for the teacher and the students.
