When I first teach the strategy of ‘counting on’ to help with efficient addition, I use a fall version of this same game. For that item (which includes a suggested lesson to introduce counting on efficiently), please see my store:
I also use ‘Color My Sum’ game as a way to give more practice opportunities; it’s really engaging for students, and it’s an easy game for them to take home and play with a family member too! My students asked me to make a snowman version, so here it is! Whether this is the first time your students are playing this game, or whether you are using this as additional practice, it’s a great way for students to grow their addition fluency!
