*After reading the poetry book, Hailstones and Halibut Bones by Mary O'Neill, students will create color poems.
*Ideas are included for color poetry--objects that come in a particular color, characters, holidays, etc.
*Students then create a list of 10 objects in their assigned color for their poem.
*Students learn to write stanzas for their color poems.
*After finishing their rough drafts, students are provided a final copy to complete their color poetry and a page to illustrate their poems.
It's a favorite with my students! Happy writing!
