The beginning of the year is the perfect time to teach colors. In addition to providing successful activities for those children who already know their colors, it provides learning opportunities for those students who are still learning them. Using colors allows students to feel successful while helping them learn many of your classroom routines. These mini-units can be used in isolation or as a supplement to your existing unit.
Mini-Units for red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, black, white, pink, and bonus unit, gray.
The following items are included within each mini unit:
Color Poster: Color Song from Frog Street Press. Included is a YouTube link and a SafeShare.tv link
Poetry Log inserts: ½ page and full page versions
12 Color Cards: these cards have a variety of uses: sorting, labeling, differentiated cubes, etc.
Emergent Reader: This 8-page, easy to assemble, emergent reader comes in both color and black and white. Use it in small groups or with your whole class.
