Product Description
Your students will work on color identification, counting, fine motor, and sorting skills as they match cute images to color mats.

This activity includes color mats (10.5” x 4”) in 10 colors and sorting pictures (2” x 1.5”) in 10 designs and colors. Colors include: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, black, gray, and white. Designs include: apple, bow, button, caterpillar, dinosaur, fish, grasshopper, ice cream cone, tag, teddy bear.

This interactive color sorting and matching task is a perfect early childhood activity . If you are working in settings with toddlers, preschoolers, childcare, early intervention, occupational therapy, speech therapy, or special education classrooms this resource is an engaging way to practice basic pre-math and vocabulary concepts.

This resource is easily adaptable to TEACCH – style work boxes or file folder activities for children on the autism spectrum. Use one color mat and corresponding cards for an error-less matching activity. Add more mats and colors as you teach discriminating among several colors.

To prepare, just print, cut, and laminate the mats and pictures for each color. Printing on cardstock will make them more durable. Apply cut and loop tape (i.e. Velcro) to the mats and pictures. I recommend using the hard or rough side to the back of the cards and the soft side to the mats. Alternately, you can adhere small squares of magnetic tape to the backs of the cards and in the corners of the mats to use on a cookie sheet or magnetic board.
