Product Description
Encourage students to use a color, symbol, and image to represent the big ideas they identified in a text. This thinking routine, from Making Thinking Visible, allows students to make their thinking visible in a way that did not rely so heavily on the use of written or oral language. The activity has been modified so that older students support their color, symbol, and image choices with evidence from the text. Slide 1 is for lower elementary students and Slide 2 is for upper elementary and secondary students. Students can simply copy and paste their colors, choose to add an emoji as a symbol, and Google search or illustrate an image for the image portion of the assignment. Student samples are provided.
