Allison Bouffard of Too Cute for Words-
These color word flashcards are great to print off and use for a variety of activities and games to help your students or child learn their colors, how to spell the color words and also how to finger spell the words in ASL. A great way to use sign language in the classroom and to differentiate learning too!
By using ASL fingerspelling while saying the letters of the words it will help children to retain the words because they are actively involved in their learning with different modalities. You can print the whole set off several times, in different colors, and laminate them, so that different groups can use them at the same time, and there is less chance of a mix up with cards at clean up time. The cards also have a circle or dot that you can color in to aid young learners in reading and writing their color words. You can use them in a game of Go Fish or Memory, to name a few.
