Do your students struggle with reading or spelling their color words? Mine did, so I created this engaging activity to practice identifying and spelling color words correctly. This is perfect for kindergarten and first grade students.
This 2 in 1 activity will allow your students to first sort letter cards by color. Once sorted, students will assemble them in the correct order to spell the names of the colors. Your students may do this from memory, or they may peek at the color word anchor chart included with your download.
What exactly is included in your download:
*Letter Cards spelling the following colors- red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, black, brown, white, and gray/grey (spelled both ways).
*A Blank page to fill in your own color word (in case you want to be more specific with color choices)
*Color Word Anchor Charts (2) with gray/grey (spelled both ways)
Print anchor chart of your choosing (gray/grey). Print letter cards on card stock for added durabilityas well . Cut apart the letters into individual cards easily using a paper cutter. Laminate if you wish to do so and cut out and you are ready to go. Mix up the cards and then your students are ready to play. Perfect for individuals, pairs, small groups, guided reading, as an accompaniment to any book about colors you read, with a parent volunteer or peer tutor. You can store all of the cards together in a ziplock bag or in a basket or bin. Print as many as you would like so more students can participate.
