Color by Catholic Mass Objects

Learn about items commonly used in the Catholic Mass in a fun and engaging way with these color by code pages. Many adults don't always remember the names of the articles we use at Mass, but children can become more familiar with the terminology through these Catholic Color by Mass Item pages.

The different versions of these coloring pages allow you to differentiate to meet your students' needs. As students learn more about the different items found in Mass, they can progress to other levels.

Version 1 - Match picture to picture (level 1)

In this version, students will just need to match the pictures in the key to the pictures in the color by code picture. They do not need to read words (except the color names) to complete this page. The pictures included on each page do not necessarily match the item that they are coloring. This is just to familiarize them with a variety of items we use in Mass. 20+ different Mass items are used on these pages in addition to the pictures they are coloring.

Version 2 - Match word to word (level 2)

In this version, students will just need to match the words in the key to the words in the color by code picture. For example ambo to ambo or chalice to chalice. They are strictly matching words. The words included on each page do not necessarily match the item that they are coloring. This is just to familiarize them with a variety of items we use in Mass. 20+ different Mass items are used on these pages in addition to the pictures they are coloring.

Version 3 - Match picture to word (level 3)

This version is designed to be similar to version 1 & 2, but more challenging. The key at the top will show a small picture depicting an item used at Mass. Students will need to identify the item and find the word that matches it in the color by code picture. 20+ different Mass items are used on these pages in addition to the pictures they are coloring.

Version 4 - Match related words to related words with descriptions (level 1)

In version 3 and 4, the focus is on the item they are coloring. All of the words listed in the key are words that describe that main picture, versus random Mass items. This version gives support to students by including a description of the item they are coloring at the top to help teach them about that item.

Version 5 - Match related words to related words (level 2)

This version is similar to version 3 in that all of the words in the key are related to the color by code item. This version is more of a challenge because it does not include a description and students must use their own knowledge to identify the Mass item they are coloring and write the answer at the bottom.
