Kids can recognize colors in Spanish while learning colors. I used it in grades 2-4 during the last ten minutes of class. Great transition activity. The Day of the Dead is a great way to introduce 20 Spanish Vocabulary words of important elements of the holiday. You can have them create a small narrative in Spanish of the holiday using the vocabulary and web research of the words. It satisfies Communication Standard 1.1 and 1.2

3) Word Search = 12 Spanish Colors word search- Have students compete for a HW pass. Always FUN way to finish the class.
4) Day of the Dead Interactive Activity- Colorea la máscara de la calavera- Great opportunity for students to color their mask and maybe do a brief description such as Mi Máscara es ________. Mis Ojos son_________ Mi nariz es ________ MI boca es __________. They can write them in their notebooks and present it to the class. Have students take notes and translate for class.
