This is a really fun introductory activity for students to familiarize themselves with the periodic table of elements. The teacher prints out enough of the pages of directions, as well as Periodic Tables for each student to have one copy. Then, students use colored pencils and follow the directions to learn the different parts of the PTE while coloring! Students truly enjoy the break from notes, vocabulary, and research. This is a calm, fun way to start a new unit on chemistry! Plus, after they complete this activity, they have a color-coded PTE to use for the remainder of the unit.
