Hop on board for an exciting reading adventure!
This resource engages students in a variety of reading genres, while helping them learn about the geography, people, places, and events in Colorado.
Throughout the year, students must "visit" different cities around Colorado and each city is assigned a specific genre. Once a student finishes a book, they then complete a book report and book talk in order to get credit for that destination.
Students are also expected to make "side trips" throughout the year in which they research a famous person, place, or event and complete a piece of nonfiction writing product.
This product includes the following resources/activities:
*Fiction and nonfiction book report templates
*Book talk questions
*Map of Colorado cities and regions
*Levels of reading engagement
*Goal setting and reflection page
*Colorado license plate template
*Record keeping page
My students have been thoroughly engaged during independent reading time, trying to visit as many destinations as possible!
