Print out the words to make the sentences, then cut and glue them on
cardstock or construction paper.
I use the words WE ARE GOING TO THE PUMPKIN PATCH at the top of the pocket chart to read first then I place the words in the pocket chart to form the sentence I SEE THE ORANGE PUMPKIN after the word PUMPKIN have one of the students find and place the ORANGE PUMPKIN beside that sentence. Repeat that with each color.
I usually put up a sentence for each different colored pumpkin so that they are all in the pocket chart at the same time.
You could also hide the pumpkins around the room and they have to find the right color pumpkin to match each sentence. For that you can use the sentence CAN YOU FIND THE ORANGE PUMPKIN
This is used to reinforce the sight words they have learned. ( I, see, the, can, you, and find)
