Description
This lesson includes the lab worksheet and a powerpoint that goes along with the lab. In this experiment students demonstrate convection currents in water. They will see that hot water rises and cold water sinks. You can also relate to density (cold water is more dense than warm water) if students have been taught density already.
Lab materials needed: Clear plastic tub or container, hot water, cold water, small test tube, and food coloring.
