This is a fun activity for identifying or reviewing nouns, and determining which represent people, places, or things. It works very well as a whole class/teacher exercise where the teacher calls students to the Smartboard or chalkboard (using the colors required). Students will each need red, blue and green crayons (colored pencils are great for this). The complete instructions for both teacher and student are included on the worksheet, as are two examples. This is a great summary review for nouns, or a challenge sheet for those students who may already be advanced beyond the rest of the class in an understanding of nouns. A teacher key is included. The exercise requires a student to examine each sentence, determine the type of nouns, and choose the appropriate colored crayons for underlining. This can easily be adapted for either a Center activity, or a Smart Board practice with the whole class. Please see preview and student directions there.
