This math center is a total hit with my students! Colorful Numbers: Addition focuses on adding numbers through 10.
There are two versions in this game. You can choose to have your students use cards with numerals or with dots. Either way, the outcome is the same; they will be adding two numbers together.
Students will pull a number card, figure out the total, then (using their crayon that matches the card) trace the number on the recording sheet. The last step is to write the number sentence on the provided line. The + and = are already on the page which will assist children who are having difficulty remembering which symbols go where.
I especially love this center because your higher students will be looking for patterns to add quickly or using mental computation and your lower students can count them one at a time or use manipulatives. It suits all of the needs in your classroom!
I created the cards so that each set has different colors to minimize copying. There are 5 different sets of cards included. I also created the borders in separate colors in case your students mix the cards up. You can easily identify which card goes with which set based on the border color.
Just remember to only give the students one set of cards at a time. (Don't give them both the dot cards and the numeral cards).
Enjoy! Thanks for looking! :)
