This is a dual-purpose activity meant to help children identify colors & increase fine motor skills!
The children are directed to trace a color word with a corresponding colored marker, find "things" that are that same color, and glue the "things" on their paper.
I did this with my PK3-ers, and they LOVED it, girls and boys alike! I kept a couple of large zip-top bags full of extra bits and pieces of colorful "things" - string, tissue paper squares, beads, sequins, macaroni noodles, foam stickers, feathers, buttons, left over construction paper pieces, etc. The sky's the limit. Each week we began our colors unit with this sheet. I would pour the contents of the bags onto two or three paper plates per table, and the children had to sort through and find "things" that were the same color as our color of the week, then glue them on their paper. I always encouraged them to really fill up their paper, not to just glue two or three items.
Keep the sheets as the children finish them, and create a Colors Book for the children to take home!
There are 11 pages included in this pack with traceable color words at the top: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Pink, Brown, Black, Gray, and White.
