Art is ... Art & Math Coloring Loggerhead Sea Turtle (3 pages)
The Loggerhead Turtle is found worldwide and considered endangered. This is my original black and white drawing taken from a photo, showing the solar radio tracker used to follow the sea turtle's journey. This device has helped scientists understand the swimming journeys of the loggerheads during their "lost years" when they go out to the ocean from their nest. They do return to land when they are young adults and again as adults to lay their eggs. It is illegal to have, kill or harm a loggerhead.
Open Ended Coloring of the Loggerhead Turtle
Art & Math equations are simple addition and subtraction. Students must fill in the math equations that equal the given answer and then color the picture using the key.
The Coloring Key shows 7 different colors and color combinations. Since Loggerheads have patterns for camouflage, the main color is listed first. The key will show how to draw the patterns.
Note: Some small coloring parts are only given numbers. Obviously, the space was too small for an equation. The flippers also only have one equation but that pattern is to be filled in on the whole flipper.
