Looking for simple, yet engaging activities for the Middle School Math classroom? This particular activity is a Coloring Page activity. Basically a color by number, but the students have to solve math problems to get the numbers. It's a wonderful way to let students review and have a little fun (Middle School students still love to color, even if they don't admit it).
Coloring Pages can be done in class or as homework or as a combination. They can be an individual activity or done as a group. Coloring Pages work great on holidays or any day when the kids might be hyper. Just put them in groups, give each student a worksheet and let them work while they chat and help each other. It makes for a good, not too stressful review day for everybody!
This is geared toward 6th, 7th and 8th grade. It includes adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing decimals. All numbers are positive and go as far the thousandths place. There are 25 problems. It starts with 3 adding, 3 subtracting, 3 multiplying, 3 dividing and then second half is all four operations mixed together.
