Sometimes students need to learn words - like numbers and colors - before they're actually ready to READ them. In a quest to familiarize struggling readers with color words, I developed a 7-part set of activities.
It started out pretty simple, but then I kept having more and more ideas for extending the learning! I think there's something here for everyone.
The first part of this set, a File Folder Game using 3 colors, is available as a free sample - click here to view the FREE SAMPLE
Next we have a File Folder Game using TEN colors. (Seriously, it doesn't get cuter than this. Kids LOVE this game.)
Then there's a File Folder activity with solid-colored rectangles, and color word cards to place on top of them.
Also included is a card game set, half with words and half with colors to match up - play Go Fish or Memory or any variety of card games with these.
Then we have a File Folder colors-matching activity, containing 4 ADORABLE images for each of the following colors: pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.
Next up, a File Folder movable alphabet spelling activity. (I like File Folder Games, can you tell?) Letters are grouped by sounds rather than individually, to make learning about the words easier. (For example, "purple" is four tiles: p ur p le.)
And finally, color strips in two sizes, to use as bookmarks or as guides for writing color words.
