In our classroom, we study colors by doing an in-depth study of rainbows. The kids love it, because rainbows are exciting and interesting! It's always exciting to see a rainbow, no matter how old you are. In this unit packet, I have included activities for reading, writing, social studies, science, and art.
The colors highlighted in this unit plan include red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, black, white, and gray.
The reading/writing portion includes:
-Student Colors Workbook (1 page per color, see above for color list)
-Colors Anchor Charts
-Colors Book List
-Informational Writing Templates (at 3 different writing levels)
The social studies portion includes:
-Nutrition activity (eating all the colors)
The math portion includes:
-Patterning (making patterns with the colors in rainbows)

Most of the file is in black & white so that the students can do the coloring themselves. The anchor charts come in color and B&W.
